To celebrate their 100th, Utility made a big impression at this year’s Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS). With special trailers on display and hosting their biggest premier customer event at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky, this year’s MATS provided a memorable experience for all who attended.
Utility held a press conference on the first day of the show and unveiled the Legacy Museum trailer exclusively to industry editors and writers. In addition to the Legacy Museum trailer, one of Utility’s antique trailer models was on display along with the current 4000D-X Composite® dry van, 3000R® reefer, and 4000A® flatbed trailers.
Show attendees that came to view Utility’s exhibiting trailers also had the opportunity to sit back and experience Utility’s rich history in the Legacy Museum trailer. Utility custom-designed this special trailer with four interactive touchscreen monitors and audio equipment for viewing movies, photos, and browsing through Utility’s historical timeline. At the front of the trailer, an eight-seat movie theatre and sound system featured: “One Hundred Years of Building Trailers: The Utility Centennial Story”, a 25-minute documentary film that was available to be viewed throughout trade show hours. Additional museum elements included a World War II memorabilia shadow box displaying the original classified movie reel of Utility’s designed M23 Ammunition trailer being tested by the U.S. Army.
This year’s MATS drew 79,061 attendees, which was up only 1% from the previous year. Next year’s Mid-America Trucking Show will be held on March 26th through March 28th, 2015. Utility intends to make an even bigger presence at next year’s event to mark the beginning of the next 100 years of innovation.
